It was a sunny mid-October day, the temp was about 85 degrees and the water was glistening an emerald blue. When I arrived to the hotel, I was wearing shorts, flip flops, and a tank top. Valet was complimentary since I was the photographer. I quickly ran in to the hotel, got ready and headed back to grab my gear, ready to start documenting the day.
I first went to the grooms suit to introduce myself and get a feel for how ready they were to start photos. The grooms suite was super moody and perfect size for all the guys to start getting ready. After hanging with the guys for a few minutes I headed over to the bridal suite. The bridal suite had an amazing view of the pool and La Jolla cove seaside. Everything was so close and easy to get to between Cameron and Roxanne.
The first look was done on the private patio outside of the bridal suit. It had the perfect backdrop and was nicely shaded to keep Roxanna out of the hot midday sun. We then moved indoors to the reception hall and did the larger formal family portraits and bridal party photos. We finished with plenty of time to spare before the ceremony. I enjoyed a cocktail at the bar and then prepped for the ceremony procession.
The ceremony was overlooking the coast and the cascading hotel landscape. One of the most iconic ceremony backdrops I have ever photographed. The towering palm trees made for such a great scene with the water behind them. It was a total vibe.
Roxanna and Cameron wanted to enjoy their cocktail hour so we took them a few minutes prior to grand entrance to take romantics around La Valencia.
The Reception was filled with great speeches, good food, and a lot of dancing.
From the photos, you will see why this was one of our top weddings of the year. Check out the La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla San Diego for an unforgettable seaside wedding.
