I met Katie several months ago after giving her a tour of our family owned wedding venue, Emerald Peak Venue. She loved the atmosphere and immediately knew she wanted to have her wedding their. They loved the outdoor and wild feel since it matched their taste.
After she booked on the spot, I told her I was a wedding photographer and handed her my card. She looked up my Instagram and fell in love with my work. She booked within the week and we got to planning their engagement session.
Katie had me choose the location. I had them meet me at South Coast Winery around 6pm to avoid the August heat. That put us in perfect timing for golden hour at 7pm. The first half an hour is about getting comfortable in front of the camera and building up your confidence.
We had a wardrobe change before we left the winery for the open field. Katie wore an elegant deep emerald dress and Joey went for the classic monochromatic masculine look. The last beams of light were so fulfilling against the painted mountains. I love this spot because it looks completely different than the typical Temecula backdrop. Check out the photos below!
