Nestled in a 40-acre vineyard, Danza del Sol Winery is located on the De Portola Wine Trail in the heart of Temecula Valley, just 45 minutes from San Diego. The winery reflects the spirit of “The Valley” rustic, authentic and bold.
With Spanish style architecture and magnificent views of their 40 acre vineyard estate, Danza del Sol Winery has become one of my absolute favorite venues to shoot a winery wedding. The reception space can accommodate 150 guests comfortably and offers 3 unique ceremony settings.
The Garden, a private and elegant space is surrounded by pine, palm, and magnolia trees with seasonal floral accents. The Vineyard clearing is settled among Sangiovese, Syrah and Gewurztraminer vine, and is perfect for couples looking to fully embrace the vineyard wedding vibe. For a more intimate group, The Barrel Room, as the name suggests, features towers of aromatic barrels and is the perfect setting for an elegant, yet smaller group of around 40 guests.
No matter which ceremony spot, I have been able to capture incredible shots at this venue. The vineyard is home to some of the oldest vines in Temecula Valley, which provide a breathtaking backdrop to our couples’ post-ceremony portraits. Depending on the time of year, the vines range from lush and full with colors in every shade of green, gold and purple, to romantic and sprawling twists and turns in the more dormant winter months. The sunsets at Danza are some of the best in the valley since there are no hills to block the light during Golden Hour.
Danza provides an on-site Wedding Coordinator with all their wedding packages. This guarantees such a stress-free day for both the couple and for myself. With most events of your wedding day choreographed to work well with the venue and the natural beauty available, I find that we are able to take the time that we need to grab that perfect sunset shot, fun and relaxed candids and cherished ceremony and reception moments at every event. As for their food, it’s some of the best wedding food I have have ever tasted. Chef Volker Lutz from Vineyard Catering does an outstanding job and offers a fresh assortment of dishes and some great vegan and vegetarian options. The stuffed shishito peppers and cilantro rice are my favorite!
In all, Danza is probably my favorite venue in Temecula Wine Country and I cannot wait for the plans they have for the future.
Fun fact: I used to bartend at this very winery about a year after it opened! This is where I started my career as a wedding photographer and have such fond memories of being behind the bar. This winery is very near and dear to me. I now have the great honor and pleasure of being a trusted vendor for weddings and other photography needs such as product, website, and promotional photography.
