merican Portra Weddings came to life in 2020 after Nick spent six years building Nicholas G Photography into one of the most trusted wedding photography brands in Temecula. Since 2013, he’s photographed hundreds of weddings across Southern California—everything from vineyard estates and backyard celebrations to the Utah Desert, and the sandy beaches of Cancun, MX
As the business grew, so did the team—and that’s when Rosie officially stepped in. What started as second-shooting quickly turned into a full-blown love affair with weddings. Currently, we offer photography, videography, and planning as a husband-and-wife duo, backed by a small, trusted team of editors, shooters, and storytellers who make the magic happen behind the scenes.
We attend around 30-50 weddings a year, and somehow still genuinely love what we do (yes, even after long timelines and day of chaos). We know how fast a wedding day flies by, so our goal is simple: help you slow it down, stay present, and enjoy it—without stressing over the details. We’ll keep things organized, running on time, and looking really good while we’re at it.
When we’re not at weddings, we’re at home raising three amazing kids, reliving our childhood through them, and soaking up the California sun. We love our wine-country roots, but we’re always down for a road trip—or a destination wedding—when adventure calls. He was extremely flexible, and professional throughout the entire experience. He had a great balance of giving us direction in posing, while also giving us some freedom to take a few photos/poses we particularly wanted. Some of our groomsmen had no experience taking photos, and Nick was fantastic about telling them exactly what to do, in a relaxed and 'chill' environment. When I was getting ready in the morning, Nick and his second shooter took the initiative and got photos of my jewelry / shoes / Bible, etc. without me even knowing or asking - it was awesome!
