Yes—absolutely. We’re based in Southern California (San Diego + Orange County), and we travel often for destination weddings in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Mexico—Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Tulum, you name it. If you’re planning something elevated, we’ll show up calm, prepared, and ready to create something spectacular.
Do you travel?
I typically book 3–6 months in advance for portraits, and 8–12 months for weddings. However, I always welcome last-minute magic when possible.
How far in advance should we book?

how many photos will we get from our wedding day?
Every wedding is different, but you can expect a full, story-driven gallery with plenty of variety and very few duplicates. As a guide, 6 hours with one photographer typically delivers 600–800 images, and 8 hours with two photographers usually delivers 800–1,000 images (larger days and multi-event weddings often reach 1,000+). We curate tightly so every photo earns its place—candids, details, portraits, and the in-between moments—without feeling repetitive.
how long does it take to get our photos?
Wedding galleries are typically delivered in 4–8 weeks—closer to 4 weeks during our slower season, and up to 8 weeks during peak months like summer and fall. We move through weddings intentionally (about one per week with our editor), and then Nick personally reviews every gallery before it’s uploaded to make sure it’s polished and ready for final delivery. You’ll also receive a preview gallery within one week of your wedding with 75–100 images so you can start sharing right away.
does nick personally shoot every wedding?
Yes—Nick personally shoots your wedding whenever he’s available, and you’ll know at booking whether your date is with Nick or one of our associates. If Nick isn’t available, you’ll be in great hands: our associate photographers are directly trained by Nick, and every gallery still goes through Nick’s eyes for curation and consistency before final delivery. The look stays unmistakably American Portra—natural, polished, and true to the day—while booking Nick as your lead is simply the luxury option for couples who want him there personally.
