Peltzer Farm Wedding – Temecula, Ca

Lindsey and Brett are one of the most laid-back couples I’ve ever worked with, and I had a blast photographing their simple yet stylish vineyard wedding at Peltzer Winery in Temecula, CA. We ate some awesome BBQ, and Lindsey and Brett chose to scrap a lot of wedding traditions so their guests could get right to the dance floor- overall it was an amazing night, and I wish all my couples could have this much fun on their wedding day!

The Back Story

Lindsey and Brett grew up in the same neighborhood…on the same street even, with only one house in between them. They were great friends all throughout high school, and even stayed in touch as Lindsey went out of state for college and eventually graduate school. It was during her last year of grad. school that she and Brett finally decided to take their relationship to the next level, and before they knew it Brett was down on one knee at their favorite weekend getaway spot, the Ponte Vineyard Inn in Temecula, and Lindsey was saying “yes!”

The Wedding

The proposal set the scene for their future wedding, as Temecula has always been a special place for both Lindsey and Brett. They chose Peltzer Winery as their venue for both the ceremony and reception, and it was the perfect backdrop for both. The girls were able to get ready in the bridal suite while the guys relaxed and caught the first football game of the season in Peltzer’s vintage airstream trailer.

The couple chose to adapt their wedding style to meet the decor at Peltzer, and the result was stunning. The girls wore floor-length, merlot-colored gowns and the men wore black tuxes, except for Brett who chose to swap his black jacket for a black and white checked suit coat. Their merlot, gold, black and white color palette perfectly accented Peltzer’s decor of wood, metal, and greenery.

They incorporated several personal touches and DIY details, including personalized koozies, napkins, and a cake topper that read “Mr. and Mrs. Murphy”. They placed personal photos of themselves and their families all around the reception space, and guests were even treated to tiny gourmet cupcakes from Sweet and Saucy in lieu of traditional wedding cake.

Overall, Lindsey says that their wedding day was “exactly what [she and Brett] had envisioned and planned: a simple fun day with our closest family and friends. We ate, drank, and danced. We could not have asked for a better day.”

Lindsey and Brett decided to do a first look which ultimately saved a ton of time and allowed them to get to the reception much more quickly. The first look took place right outside the bridal suite in a nice grassy shaded area, and then we were able to photograph the bridal party right after. While I love traditional wedding photos, there are certainly a lot of benefits to having a first look and getting some of those important portraits out of the way early! Lindsey said that her favorite moment of the day was from the first look, when she got to look upon her husband-to-be for the first time and they were able to share a private moment alone before the festivities really began.

After the ceremony, we took couple and family photos around the property, and since Peltzer is a pretty large winery, they were kind enough to lend us a golf cart to help us navigate the property! The grounds at Peltzer are just stunning, and Lindsey and Brett’s photos are full of lush green lawns, palm trees, vines, and even an antique truck. They’re images are classic, timeless and capture the “vintage farmhouse” theme perfectly.

The Crush House, where the reception was held, is the “perfect balance of industrial farmhouse chic and vineyard elegance.” The candlelight, the merlot-colored mood lights, and the vintage wine barrels were an incredible backdrop for all their reception photos, and it’s evident in the photos how much fun their guests were having on the giant dance floor!

My assistant, Sam, and I photographed the day for a total of 6 hours, which I believe was the perfect amount of time for this fun yet relaxed vineyard wedding. We were able to capture everything perfectly and we delivered their preview gallery within a few days!

Cheers Lindsey and Brett, and thanks for letting Nicholas G Photography be part of your big day!
